Board Members

Simeon Loring, President

Simeon Loring is professor emeritus of music at Kingsborough Community College (CUNY) and a former member and guest conductor of the Goldman Band.  He retired after fifteen years as conductor of the Stockbridge Sinfonia in Massachusetts. He has played in numerous Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, and met his L’Amore colleagues while freelancing in the New York area.  He has served as a Board Member for Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation.

Cecilia Sparacio, Treasurer

Cecilia currently serves as the Met Titles Assistant at the Metropolitan Opera.  She has B.M. in Flute Performance from the Mannes College of Music, and an M.A. in Special Education from Manhattanville College.  She has produced chamber music concerts for the last 40 years independently in NYC, and with the L'Amore della Musica ensemble for 15 years.  She has been the music director for Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Granite Springs since 1999, and is a founding member of L'Amore della Musica.  She has served on the Board of the Amore Opera.

Christine Singer

Christine Singer has more than 40 years of experience in the human service field. She was formally the executive director of the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Berkshire Count, and directed numerous social service agencies including Berkshire County Arc and Columbia County Advocacy.  She currently is president of her own company Your Person Best: Workshops for Success.  On the artistic end, Christine has served as the concertmaster and President of the Stockbridge Sinfonia, since 2004, soloing many times.  She also performs with the Salisbury Sinfonietta, Holyoke Civic Symphony, and is enthusiastically involved in playing chamber music in her community.

 Robert Salzman

Robert Salzman is a retired music educator and oboist.  He is a graduate of Manhattan School of Music with a major in oboe, and hold a master's degree in musicology from Queens College, CUNY.  For many years, he was a pre-K-12 music teacher, chorus and orchestra director, and supervisor of the department.  He's currently playing oboe in community groups in both Sarasota and the Berkshires.

 Jeffrey Lance

Jeffrey Lance has been actively engaged with music performance, education and community involvement since the mid 1970s.  He attended the Conservatory of Music at Brooklyn College and received B.S. and M.A. degrees in Music Performance on clarinet, and studied mainly with Leo Russianoff.  He was a music teacher and coordinator for the NYC Department of Education for nearly thirty-three years, an adjunct instructor for Kingsborough Community College and associate conductor with the All-City High School Concert Band.  Over the last few years, Jeff has been devoting more time to non-profit organizations.  They include L'Amore della Musica (board member), Jewish Community Center Rockland (Board member) and at local synagogues.

 Richard L. Wessler

Richard Wessler is emeritus professor of psychology and former chair of the department at Pace University in Westchester, NY (1974-2001), and has been in private practice in New York City since 1986.  An avid amateur clarinetist, he performs with local ensembles in Florida.

 Joanne Nolemi

Joanne Nolemi is a retired teacher of music at Tottenville HS.  She is the music minister for the Messiah Lutheran Church in Staten Island.  She was finalist in the Music Educators Award of the Grammy Awards, NYS Educator of the Year, and NYS Woman of Distinction.

 Sydney Bialek

Sydney Bialek is an avid lover of all things music and expresses her own musicality through dance. Her musical life growing up was infused with bebop, jazz, classical music, and opera. She is a psychotherapist of a solution-oriented form of behavioral psychotherapy.
